Private Commissions
Each commission begins with the client rather than with an existing product. The garment is conceived specifically for her, and for the occasion she has in mind.
Conceived in Response
Mr. Nanke considers the woman, the occasion, and the environment in which the garment will be worn. Proportion, movement, material, and color are developed in response to her individual presence. The result is not an adaptation of an existing design, but a garment conceived expressly for its wearer.

Every Private Commission is personally conceived and directed by Jared Nanke.
Mr. Nanke works directly with each client, from the first introduction and initial drawings through design development, fittings, and the completed garment. His involvement ensures that the original intention of the commission remains present throughout its development.

The Process
THE INTRODUCTION
Mr. Nanke and the client meet privately to discuss the occasion, the client, and the possibilities of the commission.
THE DESIGN
Mr. Nanke develops the initial concept and presents the proposed design personally to the client.
THE ATELIER
With the design agreed, pattern development, material decisions, and preparation for the first fitting begin.
THE TOILE
The first form of the garment is fitted to establish line, proportion, balance, and volume.
THE FITTINGS
Through private fittings, the garment is progressively resolved on the body.
THE PRESENTATION
The completed Private Commission is formally presented to the client by the Maison.
